Oh Murdie

Gladness, sadness
Looks around and wonders
Wonders about love and all it means
Down in some hollow
A depression
A state of mind
Think?
Who the hell chose this journey?
And it’s consequences
My how we have grown over the years
Your children now steal my love
My wife now steals your love
Together we are losers or winners
Think?
Apart the children must win
I guess that’s life.
We must go forward
Think?

A Born Leader

Move your wit to the left side
Understand the dimension of thought
And think
Grey matter, matters what, what next?
An influence
A change
And to only think I am intelligent will not do
For I have broader horizons, depth
But mind you I am a leader
If not
Why are you following me now?

It’s Just That Stuff You Smoke

Drag me with your mental strength
You lover you poser you big time star
Give yourself the greatest energy of feeling right
It’s just that stuff you smoke
And you slowdown so dramatically at the end of it all
I just can’t wait for the outcome my friend
Guaranteed my love for you is reckless
Oh so reckless
It’s just that stuff you smoke
And you would be the last to understand
You lover you poser you big time star
Let me tell you all about it
Wake up get real understand the reality of life
Get off the surfboard and get a job
It’s just that stuff you smoke

Puska

Seven stories high,
And you upset the boss?
So from a high-rise balcony,
T’was you he threatened to toss.

You ate his sandwich tuna,
When he turned his back,
But today you are much the wiser,
Since he cut you a little slack.

The kids call you Puska,
You’re a dashing sorta’ cat,
Living in a Darwin high-rise,
A type of Aristo”cat”.

You’ve used eight of your nine lives,
That’s a nightmare for a cat,
So keep out of the family kitchen,
Lest you be fat, flat and splat.

Trust Yourself

Call it love move forward pick some direction
For god’s sake pick any direction and dream
Dream like you are living the time
Shout like you love the dream in that time
And most of all love you and be strong
Get your mind around your need and believe
Believe like there is no tomorrow coming
This is your greatest chance to stand up is it not?
But then this is just a dream, or is it?

My Dream

What will I do with my life?
I’m eleven years of age with a plan
I am black and aboriginal, but will that matter
Most “white fellas” are saying “we are sorry”
I’m not sure what for I wasn’t there
And now I am twenty two years of age
What a shame no white man will give me a chance at my dream
Guess I’ll just go walkabout

A Moment of Nothing

And a moment of nothing has just hit
My god what am I thinking
Why am I so downcast and drawn?
No friends are ringing and I want them to ring
At least my enemies are of the same mind
That’s a win I guess
Would my thoughts that all enemies and friends
Are of the same mind be relevant
That is an interesting analogy
About an absolute moment of nothing

The Outback

Orange ochre spires abound
Spinifex leaning with a hot wind
Where a gecko finds relief in shade
Searching your destination by map
Toward a blistering sun
And temperatures that break you
But not my aboriginal friends
Silhouette landscapes broken
By shimmering waves of nothing
And the outback is of mystical fun or drama
A death scene for a white fella unknowing
Suit yourself
Impossible not to love this place
Or hate this place
Always you must be inspired, prepared to die
For just one simple error
Be aware of reality it’s now 50 degrees
Scary rugged ranges lean toward hell
And when you’re out here all alone
You are your own water supply
It’s a long way to living well
And a brief escape before living hell

Songbird

A songbird a songbird oh! A songbird
And I had the privilege to hear
A songbird in a tree, oh! A songbird
A songbird whistling a songbird singing
A songbird in a tree
A songbird singing to me, above me
So many branches high
And the freedom of distance from me
That a songbird enjoyed for free

The Mystery of Life and Death

Is it Heaven or Hell?
Are God and the Devil friends?
I bet they break into laughter, together, scheming,
About their control of where all life ends.
Fear not for God walks next to you,
On your right hand side,
And Satan the devil chooses your left,
Good or bad both will always be your guide.
Would you like to hazard a guess?
